Part of Bayeux tapestry
This tapestry represents a part of the Bayeux tapestry, “the embarkation of the fleet of William the Conqueror. The story of this hanging is as follows : “in September 1066, in Dives-sur-mer, the fleet of William the Conqueror is ready to go out but the weather and the winds decide otherwise … Is this a bad omen as Many believe it at the time? William the Conqueror doesn’t think so ! He embarks his army in the night of September 26 to 27. No less than 750 ships leave the Normandy to assault the Saxon troops. This wall hangs at best the original tapestry of Bayeux. This tapestry is woven in a factory in the north of France, on loom Jacquard. Like all tapestries on this site, a certificate of authenticity is pasted on the back of the tapestry. An attachment system is also provided.
