Reproduction of a Castelbajac painting
This tapestry is a beautiful representation of a painting by de Castelbajac entitled “Un passé spiritueux, un futur spirituel”. The design reflects events in the life of the artist, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, born in 1949 in Casablanca. The artist is best known as a fashion designer. An avant-gardist, he is very open to Art in general. This is how he came to forge links with Jules Pansu. For several years, the Jules Pansu design studio had been working on a series of collections with renowned artists such as Miro and Picasso. So it was only natural that the two should get together to reproduce a Castelbajac canvas. The choice of work had to be a painting that could be transposed from canvas to weave, while preserving the strength of the primary colors and the purity of the lines. “Un Passé spiritueux, un futur spirituel” was thus selected. The tapestry is a perfect reproduction of the painting. The tapestry is woven in France on Jacquard looms. As with all tapestries on this site, a certificate of authenticity is affixed to the back of the tapestry. Cotton lining.
