Part of a suite of 9 tapestries and woven from cartoons by F. Boucher in the 17th century by the Manufacture Royale de Beauvais, this tapestry illustrates, through representations of mythology (here, the loves of Apollo and Clytie), the more libertine character of the period. At the top of the tapestry: the armor of Louis XV, who commissioned the work.
