Ultima Cena tapestry
The Last Supper tapestry was woven for Louise de Savoie and her son François d’Angoulême, the future King François 1er. The emblems woven into the border of the tapestry symbolize the Queen and her son. The 45 m² tapestry (4.90 m high, 9.15 m long) was originally a late 15th-century fresco by Leonardo da Vinci for the Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. The tapestry, woven by the Belgian atelier Metrax-Craye, is lined and comes with a certificate of authenticity on the back.
