The tapestry “The Forest” depicts a majestic lion intertwined with flowers and foliage. This tapestry is a reproduction of an original by William Morris. Indeed, this artist was passionate about tapestry and textiles, which led him to revive English weaving in the late 19th century. Today, the originals can be found in the world’s greatest museums. It is woven in cotton and lined with unbleached cotton canvas. A hanging slide and a certificate of authenticity “TISSAGE ART DE LYS” can be found on the back of the tapestry.
